I have a client seeking a shopping mall general manager as well as a deputy general manager for their flagship mixed use development in China. The general manager role will include full P&L responsibility for the mall complex covering leasing and property management plus reporting to the Board of Directors.
And while the client is open minded about this role (e.g. age etc), it is imperative that candidates are able to communicate proficiently in and conduct day to day business in verbal Mandarin (Note: Being able to read Mandarin or contracts written in it is not so important BUT being able to manage 100+ employees and do day-to-day business in the language will be critical). In addition, candidates with previous mall project launch experience or experience working in a senior expat role at another mall in China will be given top priority for consideration.
