India, China and Brazil lead planned salary increases

According to data released from the WorldatWork 2014-15 Salary Budget Survey, India, China and Brazil averaged the highest 2014 total salary budget increases at 10.5%, 8.2% and 7.2%, respectively. These three countries are also projecting similar salary increase budgets for 2015 while for this year, 16 of 17 countries reported 2014 salary increase budgets at or above 2013 levels.

In addition, the following countries surveyed reported 2014 average total salary budget increases in the 3% to 4.5% range:

•    4.4%: Mexico
•    4.3%: Singapore
•    3.7%: Australia
•    3.0%: Canada, Germany, UK, US

The remaining surveyed countries were all below 3.0%:

•    2.9%: Netherlands
•    2.8%: Italy
•    2.7%: France
•    2.6%: Belgium
•    2.5%: Japan
•    2.4%: Spain
•    2.3%: Switzerland

In addition, Australia and Italy anticipate a drop in budgets by a 10th of a percentage point to 3.6% (median: 3.8%) and 2.7% (median 2.8%), respectively.
