China knowledge and Mandarin abilities in demand at London job fair

UK based Recruiter magazine has an article about the China Skills Recruitment job fair earlier this week in London that was organized by Chopsticks Club, a Sino-UK networking and cultural and knowledge-sharing organization. The event attracted both Chinese firms and UK based employers doing business in China who are seeking both British and Chinese expatriate talent.

It should be mentioned that Mandarin was a key skill sought by employers at the job fair with H-K Colston, a founder member of Chopsticks Club, telling the audience that the language could be the leading language of Asia in just seven years.

Some 300 jobseekers were able to meet with representatives from a diverse range of employers such as Linklaters LLP, Harrods, Zhonglun Law, Chic Outlet Shopping, Excess Baggage, AkzoNobel, Hays, China Daily, Bloomberg, Burberry, Ricardo, Chopsticks Club, Mandarin Consultant, Pinsent Mason, Dyson, Selfridges, Air China and Huawei. Video clips from the China Skills Recruitment event are available on both Sky 189 Propellertv and on propellertv.co.uk here where it was noted that each year sees more than 90,000 Chinese students studying in the UK.
